"I was seeing that there's better connection with Watson than there was with Sanders as it relates to Monken and Monken is not going to come in here and start a QB who is, in his opinion, the second best QB on the roster. I don't think you can...

"I have no doubt that Monken thinks that Watson at the line of scrimmage is better than Sanders...having watched in practice for months now, there is no gap between them. So, for it to go to Watson, either makes me wonder what I don't know or what I'm not seeing about Sanders...or what else is in play." ➡️ Scott Petrak ct w/ Baskin & Phelps on the #Browns naming Deshaun Watson the starting QB for Week 1

"It was operational. It was Deshaun Watson throwing an interception early and turning the tide of the game. It was Deshaun Watson not being comfortable in the pocket. I think that's a huge problem and I don't think that gets better in the last year of a contract when you're 31 years old." ➡️ Scott Petrak ct w/ Baskin & Phelps on the play of #Browns QB Deshaun Watson in the opener

"They believe that they can use Deshaun Watson's mobility in that game and they can use cadence as a weapon in that game...there's just a lot of things that he's going to be ready to do on September 13 that they don't feel that Shedeur is ready to do yet." ➡️ Mary Kay Cabot w/ Baskin & Phelps on the other factor(s) that the #Browns and Todd Monken considered in naming Deshaun Watson the starting QB over Shedeur Sanders

"If I were the guy who was putting this team together, I would have different QB options here, but I'm not, so they don't. "Certainly we all know and we cannot shy away from the fact that the fan base is more excited about Shedeur than Deshaun...but, I don't know if that's the end of the honeymoon period for Todd Monken if he chooses Deshaun Watson as his starter. There's a segment of the fan base that will climb back on board if he goes out and plays really good football." ➡️ Mary Kay Cabot w/ Baskin & Phelps on how the #Browns QB competition will impact fan support for Todd Monken

"I liked him. He was my 20th overall player. You saw some anticipation, the touch, the accuracy. He's got some habits that need to be cleaned up. I don't know that he's ever going to be a Top 10 QB in the NFL...but I think he has a chance to be a functional starter. I would be intrigued (with Deshaun) when he's healthy. New coach. New system. I think there is more upside with him." 🚨 Daniel Jeremiah w/ Baskin & Phelps on #Browns QB Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson 🏈

"If it was clear then that (Deshaun) was better than Shedeur Sanders, how would you expect Shedeur to beat him out in a competition? It's sounding like Watson might be back and Todd Monken was hired to access the elite skills." Anthony Lima on Browns QB outlook next season👀
