I was told today I face suspension for refusing to take DEI and Net Zero training, training which we as a council are opting to scrap. I was elected to serve my residents, not racist or alarmist ideology. I repeat: I will not be taking DEI or Net Zero training.

Stick to your guns Darren. We’ve got to defeat DEI and Net Zero before it bankrupts us. IMHO two types of UK folk support DEI and Net Zero - the virtue signalling naive and the pseudo-Marxists … 🤦‍♂️ America, China and India don’t support it, but we have the highest energy costs in the world 🤷‍♂️

Good for you, Darren. The council officers should be told where to go. I'm not entirely sure they can suspend you though as you're an elected politician.

On March 13th, Weill Cornell Medicine, the medical school of Cornell University, hosted the University of Washington's Professor Elle Lett for a talk titled "The Relevance of 'Intersectionality' to Medical Training in the Anti-DEI Era." This talk has me at a loss for words, but the video will speak for itself. I'm going to neutrally summarize the talk in this thread and will interject my opinion on a few key matters. One thing I will admit is this, I often walk away from talks like this thinking to myself, "Are we training doctors or are we prioritizing ideology?" 🧵

Do Trainers Take Too Much Credit?? The older I get, the more I understand that training is a piece of the puzzle for players or teams. Early on in my career I thought it was everything, and that a players success was my success. A players success is their success, and all the different people in their lives are there to hopefully help guide them. When I realized that, I became a better trainer because I realized I was serving them and not my own ego.
