Should a blasphemer be killed? There is NO evidence for such in Islam, not in the Qur'ān and not in the Sunnah. The Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāLlāhu 'alayhi wa sallam) chose forgiveness and mercy even when he had the power to take revenge. People didn't submit to him because of coercion. He was never a coercive person. They submitted to him willingly because of his mercy and his beautiful character.
