We have recently learned that Tony Loyd had also previously shut down the at time Rochdale MP from speaking out against Pakistani Rape Gangs. 10. the ringleader of the Rochdale grooming gang, Shabir Ahmed, was a powerful figure in Oldham, employed by the Council, with access to children and an active member of the Labour Party. When former Cllr Warren Bates handed them over, I had two choices: give them to the police and walk away, or take a stand. I chose to stand. STATEMENT FROM THE LABOUR PARTY Abure rejects Appeal Court decision, Heads to Supreme Court Excerpt of his statement. We have seen what transpired today at the Appeal Court and we want to say very clearly that the judgement is not acceptable to all of us in the Labour Party led by my humble self. I want to say very clearly that the judgement is against all known principles of law. The courts, the Supreme Courts and all courts in Nigeria have stated very clearly that the issues of leadership of a political party is an internal affairs of a political party. It is also not true and I disagree when people say that the tenure of this executive has expired. That is untrue and very unacceptable to us. Nigerians will recall that on the 27th of March 2024, we had a valid convention that was held in Nnewi and that convention is still valid and subsisting for 4 years. I want to say that the court today didn't look at that before arriving at the conclusion that the tenure has expired. I must also say clearly that the Umuahia meeting which produced the Caretaker Committee was also against the Labour Party constitution. It is only the National Chairman and National Secretary of a Political Party who has the power to convene any NEC meeting of any of sort. I want to say very clearly that we are going to appeal that decision. Today's decision of the Appeal Court is not acceptable to us and we reject it in its entirety. Andy Burnham was police and crime commissioner of Gtr Manchester at the time. And his involvement goes further. His so-called assurance reviews. Not investigations, Assurance Reviews, were the cover-up of the cover-up, protecting the very people who made the decisions to look the other way. For three years Andy Burnham sat on the findings of his sham of a review in Oldham whilst his Labour colleagues branded us racists and far-right activists and tried to kill any prospect of a national inquiry. I spent most of those years on police bail after being falsely arrested by Greater Manchester Police for crimes that I did not commit, and then falsely charged by the Crown Prosecution Service to try and prosecute me by putting me in front of a judge and denying me a jury. That they failed was only due to the grace of God and a small army of mainly elderly supporters who attended every hearing and packed out the public gallery and the waiting rooms outside. Not one mainstream media channel will share the story of what took place to force the national inquiry. Likewise, as you can all see for yourselves now, not one political party will confront Andy Burnham over Operation Hexagon. Not Reform. Not Restore. Not the Conservatives. None of them.
