A commander in the Syrian army, Abu Musab Shanan, offers safety to SDF militia members trapped inside a tunnel and asks them to come out, saying: “We are Muslims, and Allah’s covenant stands between us and you. Come out and you will have safety from us, and no one will touch your dignity by a single hair.” The Syrian army commander was killed inside the tunnel by a bomb planted by SDF militia members.

My comments on DW News: " The civilians will benefit from it (ceasefire), because the Syrian Arab army are now approaching Kurdish majority areas and I think there're gonna be a lot of sectarian tensions and violence if the Syrian army is allowed to enter those areas. And we saw also before that when the Syrian Arab Army moved into minority areas, like from Alawite and Druze, there were like thousands of people killed."

On Al Jazeera English I discussed U.S. Central Command movement of up to 7,000 ISIS detainees from Syria to Iraq. For a decade, and primarily since March 2019, the Syrian Democratic Forces held 10,000 ISIS fighters from more than 50 nations + ~40,000 ISIS family members. For wages of about $1.00/hour the SDF/Asayish safely and humanely held the detainees in makeshift prisons. All Syrians and the world owes the SDF. The U.S. provided critical funding, training, and support through the military and NGOs including Blumont. Now, apparently, Iraq is a more secure nation to lock up the ISIS fighters. The disposition, potential prosecutions, and reintegration of Syrian citizen ISIS fighters and families is a unique challenge for وزارة الداخلية السورية. Ideally, the U.S. provides ongoing advice and support.

The YPG leader Mazloum Abdi signed a deal according to which the Syrian army wouldn't enter Kurdish areas of northeastern Syria, and among other things non-Syrian militants in the YPG would leave Syria. In short: It will be the fault of the YPG if the current ceasefire collapses and the Syrian army enters Kurdish-majority areas of northeastern Syria.

The channel’s director said al-Sharaa was "clearly fed up with the SDF and Mazlum Abdi": Whenever I tried to draw out a message of calm, he increased the attack on the SDF. I discovered that President Al-Sharaa was fed up with the SDF, fed up with General Mazloum Abdi, and will not give him another chance. This interview is tantamount to a final warning. “In one Syrian state, I will not accept armed organizations other than the Syrian Army,” al-Sharaa said.
