It's exactly what he's doing, but updated. It only would've been better in 2012 because he'd be full-time, having better matches, and able to do it longer than a year. But he did become the opposite of his former self. Ultimate "these people" face to ultimate "you people" heel

The way cena explained his heel turn and what could have happened back then is so totally different from what we see now

He’s literally ruining wrestling. It was the plan all along. Rock didn’t ever show up to help Cena in a heel move that’s supposed to make us feel unhappy. Cena’s now treating us how we treated him for 20+ years. He’s making us miserable. He’s mistreating us with crappy storylines in exchange for us mistreating him. We don’t get the heel Cena we wanted. We get nothing. That’s the point! We don’t deserve anything special. Ruining wrestling means it’s going to make a lot of us regret booing him out of arenas when he wasn’t doing much wrong. He was doing his job. We booed the guy that did extraordinary things like helping so many individuals in need receive life-changing care. Cena was always under-appreciated for what he was doing. He didn’t deserve this type of treatment. He was giving so much to the industry and what did we do to him? We made him so upset for that many years and he still never gave up. His character might not have been the best at times, but there was no place in him getting jeered like he was. Plus, he could absolutely wrestle, even with five basic moves.

Definitely bcoz his heel version sounds much different rather than the current one who mostly disses the fans around
