I would empty my 401k to buy this place

I could literally not imagine anything worse than this

like come on this is absurd

Until you’re trying to sleep

Only $1890/mo

city people are insane this is a worst case scenario

The noise would be awful.

Idk the sweet spot for this is pretty narrow. Gotta be "autistic enough to love the trains" and "not too autistic to be driven insane by the incessant noise"

@Eric_Erins

How many layers of sound proof glass and infrastructure does this place need.

People really don’t understand how loud the El is and it shows

You stop hearing it after a while (because you're deaf).

can you imagine having the train autism and living here?

noise pollution and no privacy

My first apartment off-campus in Chicago was right next to the EL, basically this close but thankfully just the redline. It's a mistake you only make once. On the other hand, like the Blues Brothers say, it goes by so often you hardly notice it.

@chi_urbanist I lived by one single train and it was hell I cannot imagine how awful this would be

its amazing but i think it would have to be one way glass

I usually have people scream at me as loud as they can while I drift off to sleep. Very soothing..

Looks awesome, but only way I'm living there is if it's pretty damn insulated from the noise

Whatever you’re paying I’ll double it I NEED THAT PLACE

you would get sick of this really fast

People going to work in the morning would get a show!!

Imagine cranking ur hog in there

Arguably the worst possible apartment known to man. You either have NASA grade glass and noise/vibration insulation or you will be in a mental asylum before your first rent check is due. AND it’s a ground floor apartment in the center of a high crime area with nothing but glass around you. There will be crazy homeless people constantly looking in at you at all times of day/night. Literally a nightmare lmao

@Eric_Erins Happy Autism Awareness Month!

Do you have autism and a kink for trains?

This video made me realise I might have train autism

All I’m thinking is derailment

I lived next to an overhead train in Brooklyn, it was extremely noisy even after you got used to it

@chi_urbanist Imagine if Patrick Bateman rented this shit & would just be doing sit-ups (while watching porn on the big screen) during your morning commute

The only reason why it’s probably not that bad is because majority of the trains are turning, so the noise isn’t as loud as when they’re going forward. I’m sure they installed pretty high quality windows just for the convenience tho.

Too perfect.

active train tracks: famously serene sleep-promoting places. upside is if some tries to do a trolley problem there you can potentially untie them from the tracks and be hailed a hero.

You might be the only human in history that wants to live next to a train.

It’s all fun and games until the Avengers come to Chicago.
