This movie was strange. During the opening I thought it was going to be about SA on the little girl, because what was with the scene of her pouring water between the dolls legs and then biting the dolls face?? Then this middle aged woman steals the doll and no clarification is made on the little girls behavior with it. Idk what direction Maggie Gyllenhall was taking with that scene, to leave it there like that's unquestionable little girl behavior.
