X-men Evolution would be the perfect blueprint for setting them up for the MCU as the team being comprised of a younger iteration of the iconic members with Logan and Storm being the team's adult mentors
Why Live Action? Why not an Animated sequel to the series like what X Men 97 is to the 90s X Men.

A modern adaptation with the right cast could go ridiculously hard. Mutants in high school is still an undefeated concept.
