I'm working on a project that uses an ESP32 as well. Are you using Arduino IDE or the Visual Micro extension for Visual Studio? I started with the former. But once I discovered the latter I switched and haven't looked back.

An ESP32 can run about 3 panels, but not much more. And there are cases where they're not physically connected, so it's also good for that!
