I see people saying “ very effective” please which science supports your “very effective” assertion?! You mount a SOLAR PANEL at a mostly 90 degrees angle to the Sky and calm it is as efficient as having it almost parallel to the sky?

Very effective too

I guess they're following this sterling bank style in Marina, Lagos. The entire wall face is solar panel vertically. 2nd image is the original look before modifiction

Yes they are equally as effective as the one on the roof

Enough for wetin exactly? Vertical orientation go reduce peak efficiency compared to tilted panels by limiting direct midday sunlight capture, e go still produce usable power from ambient daylight especially in places like naija wey dey near the equator. No be the correct placement, but e go still work.

Everything about Ibadan people is always different cos how does this person expect the sun to shine perfectly on those panels, fgs? Having your panels on the walls, it's sustainability chances I'd very slim is a 50-50 chance because it might weaken the wall. Children in the compound will have to be extremely careful if need be for them to lean or play football because of the panels on the wall. The owner of these should not have ventured making use of them in that house, and if need be, he should move elsewhere to avoid unexpected stories that touch the heart #nooffense

There lot of better way to mount the panel, this is 1,also the panel can be easy be tamper with may children or ..

These are bifacial panels. They are high-voltage panels that generate power from both sides. If they are mounted on a fence that directly faces the sun during peak hours, they will work but it comes with it's downside. Mounting panels flat against a solid wall or fence will actually prevent the backside from working effectively because light cannot reach it. To get the benefit of a bifacial panel on a fence, there needs to be some space behind the panel and the wall or the fence itself needs to be highly reflective (like a white-painted wall) so light can bounce into the rear side. While the front side receives direct sunlight, the rear side extracts reflected light from the fence and surroundings.

This will generate less... It is a waste of time. Why not just create a platform for it? At least it is better than it on the face. That installer deserves a cane oo...

There’s a reason you mount them on the roof so you get the most from the sunlight as it rises & set. If you put it on a wall like this you can only get 1 part of the sun which is either sunrise or sunset & you might not get the peak energy you require to power up. So this is a NO

Someone should share the handles of COREN, NSE and NATE. This New solar industry should never be left unregulated just like regular automobile, building and electrical sector. We need collaboration and regulation of this multi billion dollar industry of which I am a player.

This shows the gap in knowledge and understanding. The only sense the person has , has been used to speak English…. How can an installer be so dumb and unenlightened to confidently display such incompetence,,,and many pple are here nodding approval 😭

solar panels are meant to last for minimum about 15-20 years. consider the lifespan of this installation? I guess 6 months or a year. this isn't safe. and the charging rate will be too be. Shadow Obstructions, Physical Damage Risks,

Solar panel max capacity is a best-case scenario. Even with perfect tilt and ideal sunlight, you’ll usually only see 50-80% output because of the sun's shifting position. And if your setup isn't facing the sun at all? Well, expect significantly less. ☀️🔋

They should have installed it at an angle along the fence and it'll form a shade.

If the sun sets in that direction. It's ok. Sun gets more intense when setting. Anytime from 12 noon, it starts reaching its peak as its sets in the west.

Let the engineers here correct me but I suspect it should be fine as long as its exposed to sunlight?
