Additionally, there has been no signs of magma yet reaching the surface, but the town of Grindavík has been evacuated (population of 3,669). On Friday Iceland’s famous ‘Blue Lagoon’ temporarily closed for the week as well. It is unknown when exactly an eruption might occur. However, Iceland has the highest number of active volcano systems in Europe, something the government has become accustomed to managing. If you live in Iceland, it is advised to evacuate if you are in a potentially affected area. (Source: Fox Weather).
