Amazing idea!

What app are you using to view the splats on the AVP? I found a git repo for one but had to vibecode update it to make it work. It’s pretty decent but this seems smoother.

I’m using MetalSplatter

Cool! I should have looked there. lol. I’m using an earlier version I found on GitHub. I’m guessing the App Store one is more up to date. But I added a native browser that connects to a WebUI I built for Sharp-ML on my Win workstation with 4090. So I can toss a photo directly into the webui in AVP and it renders it directly into your space in about 3 seconds.

That sounds great! I want to try that.

Here's my fork of Apple's ml-sharp repo with a few changes: • for Windows, it installs Python with CUDA support (the default install didn't) • It adds a WebUI for uploading and generating splats • The WebUI uses Three.js to show the splat with keyboard and mouse controls.

@justinryanio I had to invert some of the controls to make it more usable for me, but huge thanks for this! I uploaded the .ply file to AVP and quality is just mind blowing!

@justinryanio Awesome! Yeah. I’m not super happy with the controls in mine yet.

INSANE :O

🔥🔥🔥🔥

Dude, Big Sur is so awesome and this is epic really cool too

What you write on terminal, can you explain better?

I created these .ply files - what tools do you use to make them look this stunning? For me, playing a ply in macOS - it just looks meh.. do I need to convert to some other format? Like USDZ?

@grok how to code this feature?

Apple need to make an app for that for vision pro and mac. Too complicated to do it now.

Did you have to make a volume render that had Metal inside it to get this working?

It’ll be nice when this is all in a gallery. I don’t have time to learn python so I can create this stuff.

Damn you get to use cool tech to go to Big Sur AND have actually been there? Lucky, I can't do either
