For real. He didn’t reclassify to just spend two years in college. And with the talent in next years draft, it isnt for certain he’d go no 1

NIL money doesn't come close to a max 2nd NBA contract. The sooner top players enter the draft, the sooner they can sign their 2nd contract. That's what he won't turn down.

In my opinion you have to go when you’re projected number 1. You return for your sophomore year, blow your knee out your stock is diminished.

You also don’t know what you are talking about relative to basketball. So maybe grain of salt.

Can he make more at Duke with a NIL contract vs being drafted #1 in the NBA?

I don’t think there is an NIL package that would come close to the two guaranteed years of a top 5 pick rookie scale. And unfortunately the college degree isn’t worth it either so you’re really just in it for the college experience, which I can only imagine isn’t better.

Probably a dumb question... but how much does the supermax go up by each year? I.e. if he delayed going to the NBA by 1 year, how much extra cash would that be when his supermax time came?

I'm as certain about Cooper Flagg leaving for the NBA as I am about Victor Wembanyama being an eventual MVP, health permitting. It takes one awkward landing for Flagg to cost himself at minimum tens of millions if not hundreds of millions if he actualized his potential and no one is dumb enough to play Russian roulette with that.
