I’d forgotten this gem

Both Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister remain very watchable, because both are very funny, and both prove that decisions go ‘round and ‘round in circles, and repeat themselves each decade. Nothing’s new

The writers were always on the ball at the time and most of what they wrote still applies today!

I thought it was a documentary....

Classic! 'I must warn you, questions are being asked.' 'What sort of questions?' 'Well...were parliament to be televised, whether that shouldn't be entrusted to ITV.' 'You can't be serious!' 'The BBC can't be seen to be giving into government pressure'. 'No, of course not.' 😅

I saw some episodes when the program aired on PBS tv in Seattle in the 80s. Some very clever writing in that show.

🤣🤣 Loved the 2 actors playing these characters! They were the perfect choice imo. Nigel Hawthorne and Paul Eddington…was sad when they passed away😢

The writers, Jonathan Lynn and Anthony Jay also adapted the scripts into two very good books - the Complete Yes Minister and the Complete Yes Prime Minister, which are very worth tracking down - presented as Hacker's diaries, with letters & documents, they add another dimension.

Things haven’t changed since then !!!…….

It makes me giggle when mp’s are “appalled” , like in the series…….”its,its appalling”😂
