This would be interesting if implementation could be figured out But for now one could say the music actually connecting to the listener is the best form of validation for artists. The fact a song took weeks or months to be made doesn't guarantee connection. People may still not relate to it

THE KEZIAH MALLAM 的头像
THE KEZIAH MALLAM1 个月前

Hmm yeah, connection is important however, for the artist, there is heavy validation in knowing their organic analog handiwork isn’t placed as equal to AI work. This is regardless of whether or not people connect.

THE GRILL HYPE1 个月前

this is also valid. Though one dimension which one could view value is, it is perceived. Nothing is inherently valuable in itself..people have to find value in it Currently it appears people value 'organic music' hence why we don't have AI Music Raves yet😂 It won't be far fetched to say in future, the rise of AI music would increase the value of actual music made by humans physically . Just like how wine is valued on the basis of age It may not seem so with AI music now but in the end, the market will always find its level.. there's always going to be a balance just like with streams and actual CD and vinyl sales

I think it’s already increasing the value of human made music sef. Balance can be found in honesty and transparency. We won’t even demonise AI art. Let’s just not equate it with human made art. I think that’s the main argument of creatives (asides the taking of jobs🤣).

THE GRILL HYPE 的头像
THE GRILL HYPE1 个月前

😂 equating it to human made art is currently an unending argument. Though with time the line between them would definitely get blurred Only time will tell

Unless a solid long term solution is found for it which I don’t think is impossible 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ Basically like what Will explained in the beginning of the video which is why I appreciate the video.

Can we all agree humans dont need to prove our existence to Ai. How does this make any right?? Ai music should label as Ai not mp3. The hole idea of Ai is to replace human effort and you just gave it free tickets. 🤦🏿‍♂️

This would also be insanely elitist and only really benefit labels and studios. Basically, the dude lives in a cloud and hasn't been a "commoner" for many years. What about the dude who jams on his guitar at night for years on end, writing music. Is he supposed to be "hooked up" to some device to track his shit? What about the dude who spent years writing the lyrics to a song, due to the heartbreak or sorrows that person had to endure. The fact that AI can create the music in seconds doesn't detract that the lyrics were written over years. I get you want to value "effort" but I think what needs to happen is that musicians and artists need to GET OFF PLATFORMS and value LIVE VENUE EXPRESSION. The digital landscape is already bullshit. Big studios/labels can spend millions to push an artist to the top. This is not "organic", this is not "artistic" - it's business and consumer psychology. It's not that you "like Taylor Swift". It's that the marketing machine behind it know that if you hear Taylor Swift 30 times this month, at some point you're going to say, "I like that", not due to your actual taste but because it's "familiar" So Music is already artificial. Movies are already gate kept by a handful of people deciding what you can and cannot watch. Under the same premise. If an artist has 37 producers on a song/album, it should be less valuable than an artist with 1 producer or zero producers. Are we going to quantize that shit too?

Sounds very complicated. How about the musicians who create with synths? That is legit human music too? There’s no need for this in my opinion. Just be transparent with your production process - to the point that nobody doubts the music is you.

The amount of work something took isnt what causes prices . The price is determined by what people are willing to pay. If ai music sucks so bad, then people just wont listen to it.

this is what happens when you give illiterate people à platform to seem like they know what they’re talking about. basic liberal economics (the same he enjoyed to amass millions) says something very basic: value of things does not come from what is “fair” or “unfair” (empty words without a moral code that everyone should adhere to). value comes/adjusts automatically from what the product offers to the consumer/society, i.e. free market. people are the ones who should freely decide what’a worth their money, which they earned by their work. if you produce something which is exactly the same as an AI can do…then sorry but i don’t care about your sweet, same way you don’t care about how much i had to study for years to produce the design of a micro ship which makes your phone 100x faster. you decide whether the phone is worth or not the money. that’s it. if you want to make the difference, simply do live shows, no ai can do that. and even if they do via vídeo or something people won’t relate as much. this illiterate is just defending (very conveniently) his business just becáis now he does not have an advantage over others. that’s the reality. this is just another baby crying in jealousy, because another baby came into the room, and it’s more beautiful.

Honestly, I don't agree. Music is a medium to express yourself. It's just easier to do so now, so why should that be a problem or something that needs regulation? I'm finally empowering myself using my own lyrics and style instead of listening to some evil worshiping song.

You don’t tell people what worth more or less. Things worth the value it delivers, the utility. If an mp3 delivers value it will expand that value no matter what. Plus a tag on a file can be fake tha is not a proof of anything.

Same argument was made when people used electronic devices to make music. Same argument was made for Rock n' Roll. That argument was made after the Classical era. People will consume what appeals to them, NOT because of the effort you put into it.

Oh please, same argument happened when Autontune was introduced. People said music will die if anyone can sing now, artists hid the fact that they used it until T-pain populates it suing it stylistically and now it’s normal. AI will evolve the same. If people like it that’s it

That's nice data and all but human effort has never correlated to the value of something. Taking a month to write and song and taking an hour to write a song should not have some value discrepancy. The simple problem is that artists are paid pennies due to tech ceo deciding that

So the DSP would pay more per stream if it's POL? Because, unfortunately, I don't think the consumer will care about who or what made it, at a certain point.
