It's deeply sad. As the last of GenX, thinking about it, remembering it vividly... we will not be forgiven for not keeping life this way here. It really was near paradise. I often think, if I could go back but never come back to this time...would I? I believe in my heart the answer is undoubtedly yes.

nailed it! Such a great time. The best music, the best hair. No smartphones, no social media. I still have my BMX bike now.

My childhood was between 1949 and 1965. If I ever got to go back, I wouldn't come back.

Those were good times, when bands existed and you could go see a banger performance from a big name rock band like Van Halen for $20 and it lasted three hours.

I’m convinced that Western civilization peaked in the 80s and has been going downhill ever since. Growing up, we all thought that society was moving in the right direction, and that things would just continue to get better. Can someone please tell me what the hell happened? 🙁

I would go back to 1985 in a heartbeat. Even the thought of Margaret Thatcher,Ronald Reagan,the threat of nuclear war and the peak of the AIDS pandemic would not put me off. Happy days.

Just seemed that people were more physically fit in the 80s. Fat people were not common as they are these days.

The 80’s were the best time ever to come of age although the 70’s were pretty cool too & the 90’s as well. After 2000 we have great technology but the world has pretty much gone to shit politically, economically & in terms of the climate. I blame social media & mega corporations.

….and visit my grandparents. 🫶

Science fiction shows and movies back then were so positive and optimistic, like we humans were going to conquer and rule the universe. I miss those days so much.

Peek of Western civilisation. 90's is when the decline started and boy, did it accelerate. The entire mood of the 80's just can't be replicated anymore. We had it good.
