I'd question this try, though. 5 behind 8 in the initial maul, breaks away, bound to team mates, ahead of the ball carrier. To my mind a clear shear and then obvious obstruction... But it was not even on the official's minds

I am in this clip rushing the court as a student (though the quality of the video makes me hard to find) but it was a highlight of my time at NU. I remember after the high bounce on the rim thinking "crap we lost" then seeing the ball bounce again and in and becoming just elated.

Nothing to see here. The 12th man tried their best. 5 minute delay on what they thought was a clear and obvious error. Trying to rip Gyökeres' mask off. Clapping when receiving card for kicking the ball away. Handball in the box. All fine 🤷‍♂️

Call on the field is obstruction because her left foot was in the baseline. In my opinion, the obstruction rule is getting way out of hand and too nitpicky. The SS has to get the ball to make a play. Let them play! And let the runners be the D1 athletes that they are and figure it out.

I decided to take a train from Washington DC to Eugene, Oregon to watch my team JMU in the college football playoffs. It was an epic journey through multiple cities…. But all of a sudden, in the middle of Montana, things started to go wrong… Now the question is even though the game is not for several days will I even make it? I can think of about 100 plays off the top of my head that are better than throwing the ball 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage on 3rd and 5 to set up a screen behind a 170-pound WR. This is just asinine. What's even worse, is following it up with a punt on 4th and 5 when the analytics say to go for it.

🚨 Regarding Croatia's disallowed goal, this "super slow-motion" replay shows that the ball was indeed almost certainly touched by Matanović—at the very least, a graze of the hair. We can obviously question the "spirit" of how the rules are applied here, but since technology allows us to detect even the slightest micro-touch of the ball, we might as well use it. 🤯 HOWEVER, the main aspect of this decision to analyze is the subsequent header deflection by Veiga. Indeed, two questions arise here (in relation to the Laws of the Game): - Was it a "deliberate play" on his part or not ? If it is deliberate, he plays the Croatian player behind him onside. If it is not, offside should be called. - Was it a save ? (i.e., "preventing or attempting to prevent the ball from going into or very close to the goal"). If it is a save, then offside must be called. According to the Laws of the Game: "The following criteria should be used, as appropriate, as indicators that a player had control of the ball and, as a result, can be considered to have 'deliberately played' the ball: - The ball had travelled from distance and the player had a clear view of it; - The ball was not moving quickly; - The direction of the ball was not unexpected; - The player had time to coordinate their body movement, i.e. it was not a case of instinctive stretching or jumping, or a movement that achieved limited contact/control; - A ball on the ground is much easier to play than a ball in the air." We are therefore in the realm of pure referee interpretation. While waiting for our referees' analysis, my personal view is that the ball's trajectory was absolutely not altered by Matanović's "hair". Therefore, Veiga made a deliberate play, as he had time to coordinate his movement to head the ball. Furthermore, since the ball was not heading towards the goal, it cannot be considered a save. This fan in CF tried to catch a HR ball but unfortunately for him, he missed the catch and it landed on his marbles. The worst part, the play was challenged and the whole team, fans and stadium saw him get nailed in the nuts until it was clear that he never interfered with the baseball.

I’m increasingly confident in FSD and let situations play out I never would have before. Last night my wife was yelling at me about this SUV speeding through a parking lot. It was pretty obvious they were going to try and exit pit lane ahead of me. No problem. But then they panicked stopped. FSD handled it fine. My wife was full of rage at the idiot though. I don’t get road rage anymore on FSD. I’m just chill.
