Yeah. No I think Olive Garden missed out. I’ve interviewed girls this age for 30 years. She’s solid. She’s also not wrong. She dodged the bullet here. He’s lucky all she did was cry. He’s abusive and started manipulating her within the first 5 minutes.

She applied for a part-time position and the manager, who was not very professional by not arriving at the appointed time, tells her she has to be available for a full-time position. This is a woman who is used to working three jobs to take care of herself and you’re criticizing?

I don’t know how people can cry in front of their phone and record it. Imagine watching it back and having the mentality to be like “ fuck yeah this is a winner” and hitting post.

She would have done that job 1 weekend and quit. Good on the manager for calling out her bullshit.

This is where a WELL-ADJUSTED PERSON would go to friends, a boyfriend, or family to bare herself and seek solace and guidance. And if you don’t have a person to confide in… get a cat or dog to hug. Social media is not the place, especially not while in the middle of a an emotional meltdown, or inconsolable upset and anger episode. Whether she feels she was discriminated against, intentionally humiliated, disrespected, demeaned, or whatever; she should first resolve the unstable emotional condition privately, THEN use social media to seek advice or guidance on where or who to turn to for help with any real-world HR-style or employment complaints IF she believes something is warranted. These young kids have been poorly raised and misguided to believe the Internet is where you go for EVERY FUCKING EMOTIONAL UPSET their little fucking hearts experience, then glom on to whomever shows them the most sympathy, empathy or whacked-out-but-satisfying advice or assistance which then makes them act reckless and hasty.

I've worked in restaurants my whole life. Longer than she's been alive. If she's crashing out because of this, she would not be able to handle any table that gives her attitude, runs her to death, doesn't tip...some people can't handle food service. 🤷🏾‍♂️

She’s looking at this wrong. An interview is a two way street. She’s feeling helpless because she gave him all the control. She is actually supposed to interview him too and see if Olive Garden is a good fit for her- will they work w her schedule-will they be kind to her- is the training good- what are the advancement opportunities- and full time-what are the benes. There’s desperate job seeking amd there is selective job seeking. And if she has the excellent work history- she’s a keeper- someone will be glad to have her at their company.

Intentionally being late as an interviewer is a good way to see if a person will fit in customer service. Many customers are indecisive, and say rude and pointed comments. She felt annoyed and insulted by it all, she doesn’t need to be a waitress. At the same time, he was being honest about the hours and days, she is there to meet OG’s needs. OG is here to meet their customers needs. That is the hierarchy. OG isn’t as desperate for waitstaff as nursing homes are for CNA’s.

No, I don’t think it’s Olive Garden that dodged a bullet. I think she dodged a bullet. She’s a very hard-working young woman trying to survive life struggling to get her schooling and her dollars in. She seems like she’s a woman of integrity. He made some snap judgments after he was the one that was unprofessional and didn’t even come to the interview on time.She has the right to be mad that somebody mischaracterized her and judged her and accuse her that she’s going to be the one calling in from work when she’s trying to get a job to survive.

What is it with kids these days and not being able to control their emotions at all? Is it social media? Also why do they think that they can create their own hours at their job? Is that a thing these days?

Can I just say I never understood why people would rather work 3 jobs, than work towards finding one good job. I understand people need money, but it is true, when you overwork yourself you get burnt out, meaning you're not giving 100% at work. She's working a job that she likes (swim) that cuts 3 days out of her availability. It's most likely a low paying low hour job, why not just quit that for the better paying more hour job? This is an example of working harder and not smarter.

I know exactly what she’s going through! If you haven’t had your life turned upside down by a back surgery, plz keep the negativity to yourself. This is the aftermath of loosing your career at such a young age. @olivegarden mgmt could’ve been more tactful.

Most service jobs require you to be available on weekends. And if you want to keep that job and escape cutbacks and RIFs, you need to be good and available to cover shifts for others. You never want to be labeled as a hassle or an exception. That's work life, Sweetie Pants.

Judging from the rosey cheeks, rapid speech, & lack of breath, I'm inclined to think she has high blood pressure. One might be concerned a "lifeguard" like this being in charge of their life...or even their breadsticks.
