Idk how they got this past the executives but I'm glad it was allowed

Martin Mull's performance as Vlad was on another level, and this was one of the best examples of his range with the character. Usually his tone is sinister and spiteful, but in this scene all we hear is sorrow and regret for his past actions.

Was it ever explained why Ghost Danny wanted that? Was he a separate personality and was just a cunt?

To their credit as a kid I did not cotton on that he killed him, it was vague enough

Theory: when Danny separated before it was intentional and had emotional/mental ties, and unstable ghosts like Dani can melt. Half ghost Danny was full of anger and despair and to not melt fused with Vlad to survive and hurt him. Unfortunately it didn’t work out well…

I recall that Future Danny could turn back to a human, so I always saw this as the Evil Ghost side repossessing the Human side, not Evil Ghost Danny straight up murdering his human half.

IIRC Dark Danny gave his human self the Oberyn Martell treatment by shattering his skull through his eyes.

The fact Vlad didnt want to tell Danny about what happened to his human half is incredibly dark. It's implied that he got killed by his human self when the mansion exploded..

Probably the same way the Moby Dick joke got added

You know what would make for a cool alternative universe story? One with Ghost future danny teaming up with his younger self to defeat his evil half. If he killed him, there must be another ghost danny somewhere
