It was more because of what we got after. Goku was injured and Chi Chi was blaming him. Yajirobe even had to tell her off, for how she was treating Goku.

I think it's mostly the scene that comes afterwards where she blames Goku for almost getting Gohan killed. 1. Goku only took his son to see his master and his friends he had no idea about the bombshell of his origin that was going to get dropped on him that day.

It was the first time she had seen her FOUR YEAR OLD SON after a year. Goku has likely told them of their adventures. She knows about senzu beans, she knows that Goku will probably be alright. She knew a toddler had no right to be on a battlefield, regardless of his strength.

Gohan was 5, not a toddler. Krillin was holding Gohan, the kick was unnecessary. Goku just returned from the dead. ChiChi blames him for everything. No. I hate how Toriyama made ChiChi. She used to be sweet, complex but interesting. He turned her into a vehicle for anger comedy.

Totally understandable. Chi-Chi is a mother, she’s no longer the same woman Goku once knew. Even Krillin retired from fighting after he became a father.

I honestly always could understand Chichi. Gohan was only 4-5 years old in the saiyan saga. Goku always gets in serious fights, it's no wonder she got overprotective. The only problem was how unfair she blamed Goku afterwards for what happened, though it never was his fault.

I think people forget that Gohan was literally sequestered for a year by Piccolo and the first thing Chi-Chi learns of her toddler son after all that time is that he's going to fight the deadly space aliens that caused her husband to die.

Its the fact that she didnt check on goku afterwards. No one is saying she should check on goku first. "Goku has been through worse!" Doesn't matter. That still gives her no reason to be apathetic to him.

The things Piccolo did to Goku, in that tournament, should be classed as war crimes. Chi-chi witnessed that and knew her man would be alright once again.

Been saying it for years Goku's look at her is not fear of Chi-Chi. Its the fear they almost lost Gohan if not for Krillin and Yajirobi. Granted in the Manga it looks different, regardless this is the moment Goku knew he needed Gohan to get stronger.
