If a bipartisan bill has overwhelming support, it shouldn’t sit in Congress. I’m pushing for a process that gives widely supported legislation a faster path to the President’s desk.

Bill requiring elementary students to learn cursive handwriting has made it to the governor’s desk w/ overwhelming bipartisan support Glad it's coming back, but WHY was it taken out of the curriculum in the first place?

We just had a tremendous bipartisan vote in the Senate to advance the Protect College Sports Act. Seventy-four senators voted to move forward. That bipartisan vote is a major step toward protecting student athletes, bringing order to college sports, and preserving the institution. I’m confident the Senate will pass it with a big bipartisan vote, the House will pass it, and we’ll put it on the president’s desk.

A lot of hard work has gone into the Senate farm bill, and reporting the bill out of committee is an important step that pushes us closer to getting this critical legislation to the president’s desk. While I’m frustrated by Democrats’ lack of support, I’m proud that Republicans united to advance the farm bill so we can build on the historic investments we enacted in the Working Families Tax Cuts and deliver long-overdue policy updates for South Dakota’s farmers and ranchers. Senate Republicans worked in good faith with Democrats to negotiate a farm bill that includes year-round E15 and more than 100 bipartisan bills to support rural America, and Democrats’ decision to put partisan politics ahead of producers and vote against the farm bill yet again is simply inexcusable. It’s critical that Congress passes this legislation to give farmers and ranchers the certainty they need, and I hope Democrats will come to their senses and put politics aside so we can get the farm bill across the finish line for America’s producers.

An overwhelming majority of Americans want to ban insider trading for members of Congress. Today in a rare moment of bipartisan support, we introduced legislation to do just that. If leadership fails to bring the vote to the floor, we have a discharge petition prepped and ready to go. One way or another, we are determined to deliver this win to the American people.

Last week, Congress passed a bipartisan bill to lower housing costs. Now, Trump is refusing to sign it. Listen to the President's own Republican Party talk about the bill that's gathering dust on his desk:

I am grateful that we now have a president who is serious about protecting Americans from criminal aliens. Republicans in Congress are working on legislation to support the president’s efforts.

When Trump found out I supported the bipartisan border security bill, he called Republicans and told them not to support it because it would benefit me. That's a hell of a way to do business in America for such a serious problem. It’s time to act.

Someone on The View finally says something logical: members of Congress shouldn’t get paid if they fail to fund the government. I have a bill for that - the No Budget, No Pay Act! Even Bernie Sanders, who has become a multimillionaire as a career politician, can’t help but support it. Looking forward to his sponsorship!

BIG news: A new bipartisan bill just dropped that would ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks. It’s about time. Voters shouldn’t have to wonder if their leaders are profiting off the decisions they make.

My bill to transfer a vacant US USDA Forest Service building to Perry County passed the House today with overwhelming bipartisan support. It’s honestly ridiculous that it takes an act of Congress to transfer a long-vacant federal building, especially when the county is ready to take possession. Nonetheless, we’re one step closer to saving taxpayer dollars and putting this property to work for Perryville and the surrounding communities. Watch my remarks in support of the bill ⬇️ #AR02 #perrycountyar #perryvillear

President Trump canceled a planned signing ceremony on Wednesday for a landmark housing affordability bill that passed Congress by wide bipartisan margins, saying he will not sign the legislation into law until lawmakers pass an elections bill known as the SAVE America Act.
