I really loved Heroes of Might and Magic II back in the ’90s. I even still have it installed via DOSBox and play it from time to time. It’s one of those classics that never really loses its charm.

Homm 2 graphics is far better than that of 3 or 4. I have no idea how they thought it was a good idea to change the graphics from this to those depressing, ugly, weird 3D graphics.

You have an excellent point there. HoMM II has the hidden beauty in it that if you long for calmness in time standing near-still, you can simply not engage on your turn and let your eyes rest at the world. Other HoMMs have traces of this, but only HoMM II really delivers.
