"College" is rapidly becoming an outdated institution.

College is a scam the state keeps alive through occupational licensing. You need a degree to get certain jobs, so you're forced to spend $100 to $200k for a credential that'll hang around your neck for the next twenty years. The whole system props itself up that way.

That was *fucking ace*. This sums it all up so perfectly. Colleges are a waste of time, money, and human potential. They should be just an extension of the regular school system, like in Europe. And the illusion that they have anything to do with future employment has to die.

Pitched to students is the dumbest idea ever. Pitched to investors it is FABULOUS. Government enforced barrier to competition, zero risk, unlimited price inflation, forced demand, tax subsidized, preferential financing.
