What’s crazy is Russ is one of if not the hardest working independent artist in the game. The amount of respect he has for Drake’s hustle speaks volumes

I hate to be that guy, but if this were true, he'd have gone independent already.

Independent would be sick, but then I think about how industries and radio etc play Russ and understand why people don’t do it. @russdiemon with a label behind him would prob be one of the 5 biggest artists in the industry (this isn’t a slight- he is still up there # wise)

If Drake would have known this, he would have done this a while ago. Drake needs the industry and not vice versa. Bigger stars than Drake have come and go.

Shame he’s too scared to do it. He’d lose the benefits he’s had from the labels in this streaming era. Independently it’s just impossible for him to do the numbers he’s used to doing. It would be a win for artists if he went independent, but he’d rather renegotiate 😴
