If “grateful" had a look, l'd imagine it looking like this. This student didn't have enough money for a cap and gown so his teacher bought it. Bless them both.

And the person happened to record it? This should be a private situation. No one should know. His money issues are his and he doesn't need to be "the poor boy". Let it be private and give him the dignity he earned. This post is disgraceful. Be better.

As I sat through the college graduation, I couldn’t help but notice how the pomp and circumstance mirrored a religious ritual. The procession of graduates in their flowing black robes felt like priests entering a sacred temple, each tassel and stole a symbol of their initiation into a new order. The faculty, adorned in their ornate regalia with velvet hoods and golden cords, resembled high priests presiding over a hallowed rite. The stage, elevated and central, became an altar where wisdom was bestowed through speeches and degrees, much like a sermon or blessing. Even the audience’s reverence—silent, expectant, and celebratory—echoed the devotion of a congregation. It struck me how this academic ceremony, meant to mark intellectual achievement, carried the weight and aura of a deeply religious experience, as if we were all partaking in a modern-day temple ritual.

Teachers love their students and want the best for them! I still keep track of some of my students on FaceBook. I taught Special Education for 32 years. I am in contact with some of my more challenging kiddos. It makes me smile to know they are making it!

@SpunkyPatriot_ Please note. His “teacher” bought it for him. I’ve been hearing a lot of Trash talk about teachers and I don’t like it. I was one long time ago and I never met any teachers like y’all post on here. I never knew anybody like that.
