Peter and Elon talking about the future of humanoid robots vastly outnumbering humans. UBI is obviously needed.

UBI either leads to government money printing aka inflation or massively increasing taxes. Can't afford UBI with 35T in debt and 1T intrest payments every year.

UBI will create a depression pandemic. Government should get out of the way and let the market figure things out on its own.

It seems to me, the only time UBI or similar basic income grant system will gain traction os when people like @elonmusk start talking about it again. @chamath what is your view on it?

I think UBI feels like a distant dream, unlikely to become reality soon. It would need massive economic restructuring, starting with tackling global debt, and require governments to cooperate on an unprecedented level which is hard to imagine with current bureaucratic barriers and regulations. I also question whether all governments truly prioritize their citizens' economic prosperity. Perhaps it can be achieved when we reach ASI.
