If I ruled the world...

We are living in the golden age of overconfident stupid people.

No offence mate, youve been successful and all that, but that is the stupidest thing ive heard in a while.

Retarded 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Solving a problem by making it worse. Hahahaha. Abolish everything that is not perfect. 🤷♂️

It’s truly remarkable how little you said in the first minute here

The financial illiteracy of the left is literally astounding. Imagine posting this and being proud about it. SMH

I don’t get it. Sounds like you want companies to hide how well or how poorly they are doing.

So you want all corporations to operate in the dark with no accountability? What an idiot.

you know whats funny no one cares what trevor thinks😂🤣

You only hear about large companies with consistent upward trajectories because that’s incredibly hard to do and most businesses fail. This guy is so stupid.

Watch this short clip for a master class in "I have no idea what in the world I am talking about, but I am going to say it confidently and have two other idiots who also have no idea what any of this means nod along with me"

This an incredible example of an accent making someone sound intelligent.

Man just gathered "yes men" and share opinions with them. " You haven't even made your point and she goes "oh yeah I'm with you on that". On what? He hasn't even said the thing and you're already with him? 😂

Ye you’re retarded

Enron would still be around if you had your way🤡

I use to love Trevor but the more you talk the less intelligent you sound and you are. It's quite disturbing to see someone you grew up looking to become a nuisance.

Trevor Noah’s genius plan: let CEOs hide their screw ups for years by killing quarterly reports.

That would collapse the economy. I swear these guys have the understanding of 7 year olds.

Wild, watching this and then reading the comments is just wild. Brains all function in various strange ways. Why make money at all, says the multi millionaire... Capitalism is the problem, says the millionaire who made his money from capitalism... Just wild

That's some terrible financial advice from a multi-millionaire.

Yep, quarterly pressure can push us CEOs 🤪into short-term thinking. But removing reporting completely would weaken transparency and investor discipline. The better reform is longer-term incentives, less quarterly guidance, and leadership measured over 3–5 years, not 90 days.

Companies have lost money quarter on quarter in the past, today and in the future. It was up to the investors to decide if the long term vision warranted the short term losses. What you’re suggesting adds a layer of secrecy so only insiders will know the company’s health.

There is a lot of wisdom here. Money is a nice metric for progress but it misses out on so many important things that would be beneficial for the company, its employees and staff.

I’m with him, I think we should also ban shirts, stay with me, shirts are what CEOs wear, and if they can’t walk around without a shirt then they can’t go to the boardrooms, they can’t do deals and therefore they can’t make so much money and do evil 🔥🤓🔥

It’s the creation of infinite fiat money to which everything is downstream.

Imagine that, the liberal C list comedian who spews imaginary political narratives to beguile the average man thinks accountability is overrated.

People on the left are literally retarded @trevornoah. You have absolutely zero understanding of the economy, stocks, etc.. I guess the next thing you want is to cancel the stock market?

You know nothing about economics that’s why you’ll never rule any part of the world

Reinstate political spending caps. Too much money from Billionaires and Corps buying up politicians Limiting the money sloshing around US elections will dramatically improve outcomes in our governance. Look at how much worse DC has become since the Citizens United ruling 🤔 🤦♂️

That comment by @Trevornoah is extremely stupid. The core stupidity in the comment is that hemisunderstands (or ignores) how public markets, investor trust, and capital allocation actually work. His comment that "If I ruled the world, I would abolish quarterly earnings reports... maybe every three years", treats frequent transparency as the root of corporate short-termism, while assuming hiding performance data would magically create better companies, happier employees, and societal good. This is a classic case of a surface-level critique that sounds insightful in a podcast but falls apart under basic scrutiny. It’s sad to see those ladies in the studio nodding along as if Trevor is saying something meaningful about economics or business. The democratization of the airwaves has had serious unintended consequences we didn’t build safety measures for. Some people were never meant to address more than family gatherings.

I knew you are delulu retard but not this much honestly. For someone who build a career off capitalism it is actually very dishonest to say such thing

Interesting take. But you’d have to change the tax system as well. Companies are taxed on profits. So, those earnings have to be calculated regularly for taxation purposes. But if you instead tax turnover at a much lower rate, you can also stop tax “optimisation”.

fuck... I can't believe I kind of agree. I think the solution is terrible but yes, a lot of stupid (short sighted, rushed, penny pinching, illegal) decisions are made just so EPS number goes up.

Same with opening weekend box office earnings for films. Literally antithetical to the whole idea of an infinitely scalable asset class with a 100 copyright lifespan. Utterly idiotic.

If companies reported that far apart, you’d likely get wider dispersions in analyst expectations and thus huge surprises. Those huge surprises could have big ramifications that he doesn’t consider. Reporting quarterly allows companies to provide guidance and smooth this out
