"If information is not released, it creates a void that is filled with social media." Chris Philp, shadow home secretary, tells #R4Today the public inquiry in the Southport murders needs to examine why details about killer Axel Rudakubana were not made available sooner.

Oh and why Chris Philp is the thickest of the thick. Using the heinous murder of three innocent children to further his grubby agenda is entirely expect from Tory Philp. Look over there…

Because it might have undermined the trial. Is he really this stupid? Answer: yes.

Whereas, the release of information can jeopardise a future trial.

It’s called sub judice , you cannot discuss a case which is being taken on any matter. Had the case collapsed you would have been criticising then.

Funny he doesn’t think the main thrust of the public inquiry should be how 14 years of Conservative government cut backs to budgets and services allowed Axel Rudakubana free to roam the streets isn’t it. Maybe you should have asked him about that.

So much for the interviewer not correcting Philp that it would have prejudiced the trial? Then thanking him VERY much!

Have @BBCPolitics given up on journalism now? Just work for the Tory Party? So bizarre. Allowing #GulpFiction shadow Home Sec to advocate breaking the law & prejudicing a trial to satisfy neo-Nazi bloodlust? BBC governed by same law but allow these lies to be stated unquestioned?

Philip should stop playing politics, he knows the release of certain information too early could compromise any trial. He should stand up and share and explain the facts and stop trying to play point scoring party politics about a tragedy.

Why? everything we've heard from the PM today about the Southport murders trace back to the Tory govt, which he was a part? He should at least apologise to the families for the Conservative Party's failures on this issue and vow to root out those responsible within party.

God the quality of politicians is so fucking low in this country. Playing to the lowest common denominator, Facebook thugs and racist thickos. Tory party have fallen so far, so fast.
