If iPhone 18 Pro is going to come equipped w/ Starlink, Teslas should have an option to come equipped w/ Starlink. I bet a lot of people would pay. Am I the only one that thinks like this?

NYT’s Kevin Roose on SpaceX’s Starlink: “When it comes to Starlink, I was not a believer. Then I went on my first Starlink-equipped airplane last week, and Casey, this is going to be the biggest company in the world. When people get a taste of 200+ Mbps in the air on a plane, you’re never going back.” via Hard Fork pod:

I still remember when Elon told me: “Koreans are often a step ahead in appreciating new technology.” And it’s true. I’m Korean. 🇰🇷 Koreans love technology, and they absolutely love Tesla. Now I think they’re going to fall in love with Starlink too. Personally, I fly anywhere without Starlink anymore. Once you experience fast, reliable internet at 35,000 feet, it’s hard to go back to traditional airplane Wi-Fi. And I think airlines need to realize this quickly. As more passengers experience Starlink, having great internet in the sky is going to become something people expect, instead of something they consider as a bonus. Any airline that refuses to embrace this kind of technology is eventually going to be at a disadvantage. Koreans embraced Tesla. I have a feeling they’re going to embrace Starlink the same way. Korean Air FTW.

A lot of people live their entire life tied to a desk, working fixed hours to help build someone else’s dream… only to finally live in fulfillment when they are old. My office can be anywhere. A hotel, a lake, a mountain, a beach, or the middle of nowhere. As long as I have Starlink, I can stay connected, share my thoughts, and keep building the life I want to live. That freedom is something I NEVER take for granted. Reliable internet to me has become essential for work, communication, education, business, everything I do on the daily. That’s why I believe Starlink is one of the most important technologies of our time. It gives me the ability to work from places that simply weren’t possible before, without relying on local internet infrastructure. Starlink has completely changed how I live.

I believe Starlink will become the world’s largest recurring subscription business one day. Today, Starlink has 12M+ subscribers across 160+ countries… yet still 2.2 BILLION people (~26% of Earth’s 8.3B) still have no internet access. The potential for Starlink is massive.

This is becoming my new hotel routine. I park my Cybertruck close to my room, plug in Starlink, let the truck power it through the night, and I have reliable internet straight from space. Meanwhile, my computer is connected to the hotel Wi-Fi, and the difference is honestly ridiculous. You can see the speed test for yourself. It’s 2026. There is no reason hotel Wi-Fi should still be this bad. After traveling around the U.S., I’ve realized just how many hotels still have slow, unreliable internet. At this point, hotels should seriously start looking at Starlink. Solid, reliable internet is so important to customers now… a lot of people work, stream, take video calls, upload files, and run entire businesses while traveling. For me, I guess though, it doesn’t really matter right now bc my Cybertruck is sitting outside my room powering Starlink all night, and I have fast, reliable internet wherever I am in the hotel. There’s something pretty wild about being at a hotel with horrible Wi-Fi… while my truck outside is pulling the world’s best internet down from space, just from pointing the Starlink Mini at the sky. Starlink is an absolute game changer, and businesses that don’t adapt are going to lose customers to the ones that do.

Starlink is beaming high-speed internet down to me from space. I’m listening to SpaceX’s first-ever Q2 earnings call with it. Tesla FSD is driving me autonomously to my destination. And I just uploaded this on 𝕏 via Starlink. Sometimes I have to stop and appreciate how crazy that sentence would have sounded just a few years ago. It honestly feels like I’m living in 2069.

If there is one thing that is abundantly clear after SpaceX's Q2 earnings call, it's that people are sleeping on Starlink Mobile. The potential of this business if vastly under-appreciated, and I think it will disrupt the legacy carriers in a way that most people aren't expecting. Just like what we saw with Hughnet after Starlink Residential launched, and with Viasat after Starlink Aviation launched, these legacy mobile companies will start to bleed users when these next-gen sats come online. Sounds like Starlink Mobile will have a reliable terrestrial service, even in urban areas, thanks to the use of base stations from existing Starlink dishes, lowering Capex spend on SpaceX's part.

MrBeast reveals once enough airlines start using Starlink, he’ll only book flights that have it “Oh this flight has an extra hour layover? I don’t care, there’s Starlink. I’ll sit in the back of the plane if it gives me Starlink. I really don’t care, Starlink is amazing” “Most people listening probably haven’t used it but for reference when I filmed in Antarctica the only way to get any signal was Starlink. We had this four hour drive in the middle of Africa, you put Starlink on top of the car and you get perfect signal the entire ride” “And I think what Elon Musk is accomplishing with SpaceX, there’s no doubt it’s going to fundamentally progress humanity in unfathomable ways. In our lifetime, someone’s going to go to Mars thanks to SpaceX, I really do believe that”

BREAKING: I was the first person in the Bay Area to hail a Tesla Robotaxi ride tonight. Even better, the entire time I went live on 𝕏 via Starlink from my Cybertruck following right behind me. To everyone that said this day would never come… it just did.

Starlink is revolutionizing connectivity, w/ nearly 5M customers, coverage in 100 countries, and a constellation of over 7,000 satellites. There are still 2.6B people on Earth without internet. The opportunity is massive. I tell people this is a $1T company in the making. Many still don’t believe me.

US Navy P-8 a Poseidon equipped with Starshield (military version of Starlink) This aircraft also has the AN/APS-154 Advanced Airborne Sensor on the bottom. First time seeing both in person. Didn’t have my actual camera with me, iPhone had to do.
