He was never going to be “cool.” They're turning to him out of pure exhaustion with a modern political class that treats their real-world struggles like a game. What’s crazy is... that’s EXACTLY how he won in 1972. Nixon didn't try to be their friend or flatter them; he took their material lives seriously and addressed their reality head-on.
