I was on PBS’s Firing Line with Margaret Hoover this week with MargaretHoover, where I said there is a full-on gender apartheid happening right now in Iran. The Islamic regime brutalizes women, crushes dissent, and exports violence far beyond its borders. Iran funds Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi terrorist groups. It destabilizes the Middle East and fuels violence in the West. The Iranian people have been telling us for years they don’t want this regime. They are occupied by their own government. If you care about human rights, talk about Iran. Stand with the people of Iran.

Sen. Fetterman says Iran is an “evil regime,” calling out silence on human rights abuses and urging firm action to ensure Tehran never gets a nuclear weapon: “I’m firmly on the side of Israel. I’m firmly on the side of reminding people that Iran is an evil regime. And why are we the only ones talking about the Iranian women who are about to be hanged? Why aren’t people on the left talking about that? Why aren’t they protesting that Iran is about to execute women? They are an evil regime. This has been a 47-year-long problem, and here we are, just over 47 days into this phase, at a very important inflection point in the Middle East. That’s why I’m going to continue to support this, because Iran can never acquire a nuclear bomb. That’s not a radical idea for the Democratic Party . We should be firmly on the side of holding Iran fully accountable.”
