This na your longest content wey I don watch and e worth every minute. Sharp content. 👍🏾 Most devs like to dey base their personality on their tech stack, so when they hear say e dey perform below another one, they go dey see am as downplaying their skills. Others dey fear say to admit am go mean say their jobs go go obsolete. If nobody use their stack again but PHP don prove say no be by hype or trending. Some PHP devs still dey get am clear. Na now node dey adopt full typescript support. So imagine them build system on am with JS. Another extra work to begin convert to TS. Now self bun and deno want still chance am for him domain as default js runtime. As you talk am, na so e be. Stability and consistency always beat flashy and fast.

Yes o.....

If na pigin dem use teach me coding I for be senior developer by now 😭😅 Because tell me why I’m more familiar and interested in the conversation than ever! I’m so glued to the conversation ehn 😅😅

😂😂😂😂😂

Abeg teach tech in pidgin 🙏

I actually do, check my free courses on YouTube, my paid Fullstack course just started last week

Awesome! I’m going to your YouTube now.

Core banking systems are not built with a single programming language , you need to put this in your head. and the banks you know dont develop the core bank system, these systems already exist .what bank devs do is they are provided with api endpoints to build third party apps.

Ok sir, I don put am inside my head

Where is elixir / erlang ? They should be part of this conversation.

True

Oga Amos, your analysis makes perfect sense. Python and Js are good but not to the extent of being used as the core engine for such transactions and multi threading issues are still in the corner

Thanks boss

You're welcome

This SECURITY thing wey una dey loud so, shey after you develop with DotNet you no go do VAPT ? Security is language agnostic, you gast still run proper VAPT untop any language wey you take write your programme. Learn better architecture and forget this language argument.

Ok

I go stand my ground you see dot(.) Net na the 3310 of core banking systems till date the battery 🔋 life dey wicked e get stability security and cross platform flexibility. If other phones battery dey last for 2-3 days dot(.) net own Dey last for 1 whole full month 🤯

You sabi. But Node.js is still a contender. There are CBAs that use Node to handle their transactions. But of course, Go and Rust will definitely sit on top in this case. Nice analogy once more.

Thanks boss

Abeg which one Opay dey use? Na that one dey bother me pass

Heheheh

Would you rather have a system that’s cool in Rust but fails under pressure or one that’s boring in Java but runs for decades without crashing? Think about it

Nice! Watch my previous post, you will understand the reason for this post. Also read the comments

People are going against what you said....I can see

Yes

I agree with you. I am a golang developer and 98% of job roles i see both in Nigeria and foreign are senior engineers. Nobody wants to hire junior meanwhile both the juniors are not even much o. Imagine how mych more few the seniors are. Most of those arguing don't understand what core logic and systems are. They think the giftcard trading app they built on top of nodejs is a core systems. Lol

And a monolithic system built with Java won’t be faster or outperform a properly architected micro-service system built on TS. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ I even argue that it’s easier to build and maintain long term

Why are you comparing writing an application in a monolith way with use microservices, even any language in microservices with out perform monolith na, why did you write a monolith typescript na or microservices in both language na. Why will you compare 1970 benz with 2025 Suzuki na

Are you saying you can’t prototype a financial application in typescript and then replace each service with a faster language when scale demands? Or just write every service in the most verbose language which is Java lol? @grok

@justintrovestor @grok Thats not what this video is about na, be calming down o

Why did you people not tell me about this guy ! 🤣

😂😂😂😂😂

Rust would be the best option for core banking then the other layers can be built with any tool. I believe a new ecosystem for banking should start, where the database & server layer are built on top of Rust. Solana Blockchain is showing us how Rust can be powerful at scale.

I agree with you again. You have a good understanding of the scope of these languages. Some don't, and some are stuck on one language. Yeah, Rust has a steep learning curve, but it's possible to learn, and once you do, you come to love it. With Rust, I've learned many low-level concepts that have made me a much better developer than I could've been with the interpreted languages you mentioned. Rust gives you the tools to do whatever you want while guaranteeing memory safety. For example, compared to Go, Rust has three concurrent primitives: nativeOS-threads, green threads (similar to Goroutines in Go) via `may`, and async (with a multi-threaded runtime: Tokio). And it's not an either or situation. You can combine them however you want to achieve your needs. The thing is, you'll need to study to have a deeper understanding of concurrency.

Bull Crap!!!. AGAIN, PROGRAMING LANGUAGE DOES NOT DETERMINE HOW FAST OR SECURE AN APPLICATION IS. How you write and architect your app is what determines if your app is secure and can scale. You can write suboptimal and insecure apps with all those “fast” languages you mentioned

You sure say you watch this video at all? 😂😂😂😂 wahala

I think only newbies would compare .NET or Java with JavaScript and Python, forget their shiny syntax and popularity, they don't have what it takes. .NET(C#), Java, C++ are enterprise-grade languages.

This your take is very brutal😂😂

@Saint_Bernard_ Hehehe

See me watching and not even understand anything 🤣 I just Dey hear dot net , phyton Java lol

@RichOligarch_XX Hehehehehe thank you for watching boss

I love how you explain everything Omo kudos to una 💯

I always enjoy watching your video.... kudos to you, pls do me. Do you have a YouTube channel?

Yes. Naijacodepadi

Architectural design in building scalable systems with performance and speed is more important than the language used. What is the essence of using Java if it system can’t scale effectively? The importance is design and architecture. Py and Node will also deliver in such scale.

Rust is the best choice boss if Java and .Net won’t be selected, Rust is excellent for it.

So as a core Java guy, I will never lack work be that. Interesting. Na Rust I wan learn next now.

It's the fact you haven't mentioned C++ 😂. I still consider it the top contender to design bank core systems

The brutal honest truth is this: No serious financial institution will use Python or JS for their core! Take a cue from Blockchain tech. No ecosystem writes their core system with Python or JS! No Blockchain has ever been written with Python or JS! It's not just possible!!!

I've been writing golang for years especially during my time at IoT and now in Fintech. So truly the talent pool for Golang devs is very small especially for seniors like myself.

I no too like Java, but 8 billion devices don dey run am since 19… 0… 0 (the reason na stability and security). Core banking system not fit just change like dat. Python sweet die but e go bite you if use am run banking system. Also e no easy like dat to change old code oo

💯 well said. No developer should be attached to a language or tool in big 2025. There are tools that allow you to build services in different languages and compose them into a wholistic system. Be open minded to understand what services to build with what tool.

Ok good, this answers my Golang question. You're doing well 😊

You just gained a follower, I like your content

Replace JS with TS so it could get plus one point

He didn't debunk JavaScript he was just saying what most Nigerian Fintech and payment apps use... He clearly shouted Nigeria brosss... Nice talk tho I use JavaScript but nice insight 💯💯

Core Transaction Engine: Rust (ultimate performance, safety, security) or Go (mix of performance, simplicity, and talent availability). APIs, Middleware, Customer Channels (apps/web): JavaScript (Node.js, React, etc.). Analytics, Fraud Detection, AI/ML, Reporting: Python.

Must be in Rust
