It's a simple arithmetic: You place a tariff on a product the owner of the product will raise the price of that product to meet the tariff = The customers end up paying for the tariff. It is so simple that my 5th grader granddaughter understands it.

The tariffs only apply to imported goods. American goods won’t have tariffs, so American goods should be cheaper and therefore purchased more frequently as a result. Increased demand allows for lower prices on American made products and American companies and workers benefit
