In the future they will discuss this pivotal moment in history and ask - Why didnt the Christians stick up for their beliefs? Why did they allow the demons to win? To mock them? They break up so high in the atmosphere that the submunitions are spread thinly over a vast area, so they wouldn’t even be useful if they were aimed at a huge and delicate target like an airport, for example, or at concentrations of troops. They wouldn’t be much use against any target in Israel, since Israel carefully shelters its planes in hardened hangars. The reason they break up so far up is clearly to try to avoid some layers of air defence, since there’s no way to intercept each bomblet. But in trying to avoid air defence, they do much of the defenders’ work for them: the goal of interceptors is to break a large missile into smaller, less threatening pieces. Let’s just say the two people revealed first that they wanted to return to the company. Even so, I think someone like me would have waited. They could have contacted the other members, because it’s better to announce everything at once. That way, the fandom doesn’t get confused, and people don’t get unnecessarily stressed. But why make it worse like this, why create confusion? And if the three people clearly expressed their intention to return, that should be accepted. Why suspect them, why try to question their true intentions? If the court ruled that way, and if they want to follow the court’s decision properly, they shouldn’t question intentions—they should just do it. That’s the way not to harass them.

That really is the ultimate question. Throughout all the eons of eternity, will God receive more glory from His creatures because sin existed or less? And, friends, that’s really all that matters, is the eternal glory of God. So, it’s fourth down, and we’re on the ten-yard line, and I’m pulling out the winning play and we’re going for six for the victory. Turn to Romans 3 - and I want you to track with me a little bit; can’t take time to develop all of this, but I’m going to give you a good start. Wish I could build context; we don’t have time. But let’s look at chapter 3 and verse 5. Opening statement: “But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say?” Grab that phrase: our right - unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God. And Paul uses the first of a series of verbs; this one happens to be sunistēmi, translated demonstrates in the New American Standard. It is a verb that means to disclose, to reveal, to put on display, to show. Our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God. Another way to say that would be, would you really understand the righteousness of God if you didn’t understand unrighteousness? Isn’t there something to be gained by the contrast? Paul has been showing that God is faithful to His promises to Israel, and their sin and unbelief cannot alter God’s covenant, cannot alter God’s faithfulness.
