It’s easy for us to be filled with guilt and shame when we continually battle with sin- but that is from the enemy! We have to remember we have been forgiven. We will always struggle with sin, and God knows that- His grace covers us! He is PROUD of us for going to war with our sin- not being friends with it. As we grow in our relationship with Christ, our shortcomings and our sin will become glaringly obvious- but that’s apart of the process. Repent, learn from your mistakes, and try again tomorrow. When we align our hearts and minds towards the will of God, we cannot lose.

It is fundamentally wrong to generalise and paint everyone who speaks isiZulu as a tribalist, just as it is wrong to stereotype any other linguistic, ethnic or cultural group with the same brush. We must restore order in our city. I was recently insulted and harassed by a group of women simply because I asked them to do the right thing move to the designated backstreets meant for hawkers. Despite their actions, I have chosen to forgive them. It's time we turn a new page and start respecting the law for the greater good of our city. Let me be clear: being poor is not a license to break the law. Poverty should never be used as an excuse to violate public order, disrupt the peace, or damage the aesthetic beauty of Nairobi. If we allow this line of thinking that someone should be excused simply because they are struggling then where do we draw the line? Will we justify theft, violence, or destruction just because the person is poor? In the same way, we cannot justify lawlessness in the streets just because hawkers are trying to earn a living. Nairobi is the capital of Kenya, a city of dignity and potential. We cannot achieve a clean, orderly, and beautiful city if our walkways are overcrowded, waste is dumped indiscriminately, and laws are ignored in the name of survival. Some are criticizing me for insisting on enforcement, saying I should "just let them be." But leadership requires making difficult decisions that protect both the present and future of our city. I will not shy away from doing what is right. Nairobi belongs to all of us, and we must protect its image, its order, and its people rich or poor by upholding the law equally.

The antisemitism that was festering under the surface for decades, has exploded. And for those of us who stand against it, we are not the popular kids. The so called “cool kids” are wearing a keffiyeh, calling for an intifada and demanding a Palestine between the river and the sea even if they can’t tell you which river or which sea. Keffiyeh Karens. That’s the mainstream now. Standing up against jihadism is now the counter-culture. Standing up for western democratic values against terror and extremism: that is now the counter-culture. Using facts and reason and knowing history: that is now the counter-culture. People! WE are the counterculture. And we are doing it. The Jewish people have found our voice because standing up for what we believe in, even when it’s not popular, is part of who we are. Our tiny people haven’t survived for millennia and outlived every empire that tried to destroy us by always being the cool kids. In fact, we almost never are. We know when it’s time to swim against the tide because we know this playbook. We have been here before. And our message to the world is as follows: the hatred that targets is targeting you too. I have a question for you, keffiyeh Karen from campus: where would you prefer to be a woman? in Iran? In Afghanistan? or in Israel? We cannot take the freedoms that we enjoy here in the US in Israel and in the west for granted, and right now even saying just that is swimming against the tide – it is being the counterculture. I am actually disgusted by this. I’ve had so many teachers that changed my life and put me in the right path, without them I don’t want to think about where I would be. These teachers are sharing how much money they have in their accounts on the par day. In a society where our teachers are guiding the minds of the future, the people who will be helping us when we are later in life. I don’t think they are appreciated enough nor is the compensation package up to par. It perplexes me how they they have to spend a crazy amount of money for their education, only to struggle to get by with a smile while still being generous enough to pay for the items our children need without being reimbursed for much of it. I think it’s time we create a change, I don’t think it’s fair we expect so much of them and they give so much to us only to relieve so little. I know people are going to argue with me and say well they chose to do it so if they aren’t happy with the pay, they can get another job. While that’s true, we would be in bad shape however if they ever chose to do that. Who would be teaching our kids and preparing them for the future. I think we focus too much on things that aren’t and shouldn’t be our priority while neglecting and overlooking a major issue right below our noses. Their jobs are important and our kids would fail without them so why are we treating them like they aren’t important? It’s because it’s easy for us to think of them as our babysitters for half the day. We treat them like Nannie’s who only watch our kids while we go to work and do things we enjoy. Maybe it’s time we revisit our roles in helping them achieve our goals.

Yesterday, I had the honor of speaking before thousands of Iranians and Iranian-Americans at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., in front of the Capitol.🇺🇸 I stood there to be the voice of students living in darkness under a total internet blackout. We will not let their voices be silenced. Thanks to the incredible organizers, especially Salar Gholami, for bringing us together and giving us the chance to be a voice for the voiceless 🇮🇷 Here was my speech: First, thank you America for giving us a voice while the regime in Iran has been trying to silence our voices for the past 47 years. I stand before you today as a small member of the Iranian Community I am one of thousands of students from Aryamehr University who should have been building our future in our own homeland, but were pushed out by a system that fears educated, free-thinking minds. I left Iran because an oppressive regime made it impossible to live there with dignity, freedom, and hope. I was one of the lucky ones to get a chance to live in the free world and experience real freedom in the United States. But today, I speak for the students sitting in darkness under a total internet blackout, cut off from the world as the regime tries to silence them. I speak for those who have been jailed, beaten, and threatened. For those who, even with their lives on the line, still choose to stand up. They told us: If you don’t like it, leave. So many of us did. And now, across the world, we have become their nightmare. They shut down the internet to isolate our people. They censor, surveil, and punish to keep the truth hidden. But they cannot silence millions of Iranians beyond their borders. For 47 years, this regime has tried to erase our identity. To suppress our voices. To control our lives, our culture, even our thoughts. But they have failed. They have failed because Iran is not the regime. Iran is its people. Iran is its students, its women and men, its workers, a generation that continues to rise, even when facing bullets, prison, and darkness. And no force on earth can stop a people who have decided to rise. To the leaders of the free world, I say this: Listen to the voices of the Iranian people. Stand with those who are risking everything for the same values you claim to defend. Because this is not just the Iranians’ fight. This is a fight between civilization and barbarity. This is a fight for freedom. For dignity. For the right of a nation to live without oppression. And as long as even one of us remains, inside Iran or in exile, this fight will continue. We did not leave Iran behind. We carry it with us. And one day, We will take our country back and return to a free Iran. Long live Iran, God bless the United States of America, Javid Shah.

Our people decide. You cannot make decisions about us without us. This is unacceptable, and it will not bring peace. And it will not bring success to your countries and your leaders.”
