Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark says the AI frontier is about to cross a much stranger line than coding assistants. "My prediction is by the end of 2028, it's more likely than not that we have an AI system where you would be able to say to it, 'Make a better version of yourself.' And it just goes off and does that completely autonomously." The reason: models have moved from basic coding into "the production of science itself" and the "unglamorous but fundamental engineering work" behind large-scale R&D. "An AI system that can build itself [has] big implications, and we'd like to start thinking about it now." That is the actual agent threshold: not demos, not chat UX, but AI becoming part of the loop that improves AI.

The first rung of the employment ladder is disappearing. Saturday jobs and first opportunities gave young people more than a wage. They built confidence, taught responsibility and provided the experience needed to get on. Now, Government decisions are making those opportunities harder to find. Higher National Insurance, rising business rates, new employment regulations and soaring energy costs are piling burden after burden onto the businesses that create jobs. Young people are paying the price. The Government cannot keep looking at each decision in isolation while ignoring the cumulative damage it is doing to jobs, businesses and economic growth. The Labour Government has done enough damage. It needs to think again.

$NOW CEO Bill McDermott says the market is pricing in fear that LLMs could replace large parts of enterprise software. But in an AI economy where companies need to operationalize agentic AI safely, ServiceNow looks more like the control layer for governance, context, routing and oversight. The market is still struggling to separate software that gets disrupted by AI from software that becomes more valuable because AI needs exactly that control layer. I think ServiceNow sits much closer to the second bucket.

Leftist complains that due to the Obamacare subsidies lapsing, her health insurance premium will skyrocket. Her premium isn’t actually going up, she’s just responsible for the full amount. If she doesn’t like that then blame Democrat politicians who created and support Obamacare. Socialized medicine never works. Instead of demanding other people cover your costs, demand a true free market system of health insurance where companies actually have to compete for your business. Energy is growth. But our energy costs are some of the highest in the developed world. We have to cut the cost of power and only the Conservatives have a plan to do so. The British people are being squeezed, and our industries are being held back. This spineless Labour Government refuses to take the tough decisions needed to grow our economy. The Conservatives will scrap the carbon tax, paid for by getting Britain drilling. We will back British industry, level the playing field with foreign imports, and bring jobs and investment back to the UK. This will bring more jobs and growth to the economy, and cut costs for business. We believe in enterprise, in competitiveness, and in putting our national interest first. Only the Conservatives have a plan to get Britain working again: cut spending, cut tax and back business.
