I quit my job to stay at home with our kids who went to public schools. We dropped to one income. I breastfed our babies (free food!) and cooked our meals at home to save money. I didn’t look to the federal government for subsidies to do that (Clinton was still president in 1999-00). You don’t solve OVERTAXATION with handouts. That’s why I fought you and your voucher subsidy agenda while you were with TPPF. Where did the conservatives go? Bush was elected the year I had my first child. 👶🏼 He passed No Child Left Behind which set up a marketplace for vendors and more bills supported by you and TPPF. The result? Overtaxation, more spending, and greater burden on local taxpayers.

The current pot of money does not cover all presently eligible for the CCDF - there’s a waiting list of 400,000 because $12B does not cover everyone who qualifies. There are about 10M American children of American parents who will meet the financial criteria for this new class of potential recipients. There’s another 5M US born kids of immigrant parents who will also qualify. At 9k per kid, that’s 135B, not the $12B budgeted for this year. You also have to add in those in the current program that are on the waiting list. So now we are up to $151B PER YEAR (135B newly eligible+12B current budget + 4B for those who currently qualify but are on a waiting list PLUS administrative costs) it’s another huge government program that will never go away, and add year after year to our already $40T debt. How in God’s name is this a great idea? If Dems pitched something for a favored constituency that costs $151B a year, you and every other Republican or independent MAGA voter would be screaming their heads off. This is hypocrisy of the 1st order, designed to buy votes just before the midterms. That’s a Dem specialty. If the Republican Party is just a “me-too" echo of the Dems, why would anyone vote for them? I know I wouldn’t, and I’ve voted for Trump 3 times. This is dividing MAGA like crazy and is going to lose us the midterms, mark my words.

The program is capped and it has a waiting list. Unless you're advocating allocating billions more while adding greatly to our staggering 40 TRILLION debt, there's no money left on this program.

It will expand government spending and will perpetuate even more fraud. Additionally, immigrants (legal and illegal) are having children at far higher rates than natural born Americans. We will be funding the takeover of our country. A family with 5 children (who already qualify for other government assistance) will be getting $45,000 a year plus. That's incredibly unfair to the families working hard and EARNING that much.

Used to be when a man and woman got married, they started a life together to raise a family and be successful in whatever career or trade they chose. It was a matter of pride to stand on your own. If both parents had to work to live the life we chose and to raise our kids, we did it and provided for the cost. We didn’t expect or want the government to fund or interfere with our family or lives. Accepting welfare from the government was only acceptable in rare emergencies when there was no other alternative and was short lived. But now even republicans want the government to fund the family and take away the independence and joy from success. Parents that work hard to take care of their families on their own are now expected to pay for even more children that are not their responsibility. Just get a gov't program started, then both Republicans and Democrats will both work to drain as many taxpayer dollars as possible from it to the people they view as their base. My only point, EVERY time a Republican talks about the topic it needs to start with: we should end this entire gov't program, but until we can let's do this and remove the worst of the perverse incentives.

In other words: The usurpation exists so we must mold it to our liking and make it more popular. Thus ensuring it will never be nullified.
