Even if it’s the first time you are driving in the snow and ice, don’t be like this lady. She approached a decent hill while driving a rear wheel drive vehicle, she slows down to a crawl and starts to inch up the hill only to get stuck, she ended up having to back down the hill. Besides leaving the wipers on, what advice would you have given her for a situation like this?

The District Snow Team is continuing cleanup operations across the city, including removing snow from residential streets. To help clear space and improve neighborhood access, crews are transporting and collecting snow from the street and relocating snow to the RFK site. This work helps open up tighter roadways, support safe travel, and make room for ongoing plowing and melting. Thank you for your patience as winter operations continue across the District.

This is not a laughing matter. The City has announced that snow removal - a core service - will take up to three weeks. And the mayor’s response? To crack a joke. These levels of service are completely unacceptable. Torontonians are paying more and getting less. Toronto deserves better – it’s time to demand action and hold Mayor Chow accountable for the promises she made to this city.

As a parent who is preparing to send their oldest kid off to college this year, what I can say to parents who are planning on sending their kids to Chicago is that young people are thriving and growing here, but we still have more work to do. Our hearts break and we grieve for the Gorman family's loss, as a city, but tragedies like these don't stop us from doing what's actually working to build safe and affordable communities across Chicago.

Our snow plow crews have been working hard from Lake Tahoe to as low as Foresthill to keep our roads clear. Today, we were out at the Alta/Dutch Flat area capturing one of our Placer County snow plows in action! ❄️🚜 When the snow is cold, heavy and wet like it’s been this week, plowing can be especially challenging, and it can take multiple passes to fully clear the road. No matter the conditions, our crews are working around the clock to Keep Placer Moving. If you see them out there, give them plenty of space and a wave! 👋
