I think it says everything that the examples given as to why progressive policies are better for the country are all from the early 20th century. I consider myself a progressive and I believe that if the (true) Left is to survive, we have to get back to the roots of progressivism

Historically, he is absolutely correct. Even up until the 1970s, both mainstream parties had elements of progressive agendas. Currently, however, & sadly, both parties are on the right of the political spectrum, with minor domestic differences, but not so internationally.

Sure. But the Republican party isn’t conservative any more. It’s radical. They’re changing/destroying everything at rapid speed. Because that’s the whole point. Destroy the state. It’s going to be interesting to see if there are enough Republicans with guts enough to change it.
