If there was no God, there would be nothing.

Well, you'd have to take responsibility for yourself and your actions. That's why humans created gods to deflect blame.

As a former devout Catholic. God doesn't exist. It is fiction created to order society, to provide morality which otherwise doesn't exist, and to enable people to bear the suffering of life. Sure there are good lessons in the Bible, but let's be clear - a dead man stays dead.

If the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom, then what is its end? Cut through the abundant nonsense, empty platitudes, and conventional musings of the world and get straight to the heart of what it means to be wise.

Exactly that. Authority would come from greedy men.

Our morals obviously come from the Bible and it is wrong to steal because the LORD said so.

Simple human kindness. It is the most powerful force humans can experience.
