Iran’s MFA spokesman: Lebanon, and ending the war in Lebanon, is an inseparable part of the MoU to end the war. We have shown in the past that we are determined in this. Ending the war and the ceasefire in Lebanon were part of the ceasefire of April 8, and in practice we proved that we are serious about this. We will certainly monitor developments carefully, and wherever necessary, we will use all our tools to ensure that the other sides fulfill their commitments.

Interesting video from then Speaker of Parliament Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani in 1987, in response to a question from a foreign reporter about Iran closing the Strait of Hormoz after Kuwait asked the US Navy to get involved in the ongoing tanker war: "We never said we're just going to casually go and close the Strait of Hormoz.
