There's 2 foreign national doctors in my hometown,in Bethal, the most rudest doctors there, they speak to our parents as if they are nothing, you would swear, that hospital is theirs, they have no care in the world for our people, yho i got so angry that day.

Foreign trained doctors are a no no for me. The last straw was when one prescribed pills for me when I couldn't even swallow my saliva due to tonsillitis. South African doctors are fairly decent.We don't need incompetent outsiders bantu benkosi.

There used to be a team of retired SAn Drs, who used to conduct qualification evaluations for foreign Drs that wanted to work in SA. They used to also test language interpretation because they said most foreign Drs end up in villages. I was told Gov stopped funding them. The End

No idea! I only knew about this cause I was friends with the organizers, a retired Doc/Professor. I once visited. Most candidates were Africans and East-Europeans. Some were complaining that the program was very rigorous and difficult: theoretical exams, orals, then practs.

I think it was just before 2010 when I visited one of their practical exams... those Doctors were sweating, telling me they had friends who had failed, and the practicals were the last leg... A couple of years later they told me it was just randomly defunded, no explanation

You can’t defund such a useful program out of the blue. The plan was to paralyse the health care system in order to make way for the NHI. A scam

There were too many fake qualifications. Many failed theory. The practs tested ability to decipher common gestures from non English speakers in SA. Prof used to complain that the dodgy Drs hid in our rural areas, issuing paracetamol for everything. Program was really good.

True , I know this for a fact. Private hospitals nowadays are full of foreign nationals health care providers. They are even bragging ukuthi they're in charge ( Unit Managers ) "bakuphethe " in your own country 😔
