The Epping sex offender Hadush Kebatu, who's thought to be in London after he was released yesterday from prison by mistake, was turned away from Chelmsford jail by staff when he tried to return and directed to the railway station instead. Kebatu was jailed just weeks ago for sexually assaulting a woman and a 14-year-old girl He was supposed to be deported but was wrongly categorised as a prisoner to be freed on licence. The Metropolitan Police are now leading the operation to find him.

He was arrested by the Met Police following a manhunt after being mistakenly released from prison. The convicted sex offender was repeatedly questioned on his crimes but Sky News has chosen not to broadcast this part of the interview.
