As a former USAID contractor let me clarify: it never was a charity. I worked on a pollution prevention project under the idea that we help those in developing countries, they won't burden us at the border or otherwise. WinWin, or so we were convinced. The realpolitick was influence peddling nasty tinpot dictators. And that was a hop, skip and jump to far more nefarious things, the least of which is money laundering. 🤷‍♀️

It's money laundering but no politicians are willing to jail the corrupt involved because they themselves get kick backs It's blatantly obvious by this point
