If you are unfamiliar with the philosophical differences between John Locke and Thomas Hobbes, you need to watch this video. While American revolutionaries adopted Locke's notion, the Nazis embraced Hobbes' ideal. Under Trump, America is adopting the same philosophy as the Nazis.

Excellent primer. The guy in this video has helped me understand that this "golden age" of #Trumpism feels different and frightening and why it does. It's tearing up the old Lockean worldview we took for granted. But #Trumpism is no better than an old Hobbesian autocracy
Did anyone else not know about the “hold for 2X speed” until seeing this video? Lol thank you
Bill is right. Here is a chair. It is well-documented that the Nazis sat on chairs. They loved them. Who else loves chairs…right…Trump! This is how it starts.
Right, but the anarcho-capitalist side refuses both of them.
Thank you.
To America: You know nothing mister... It's all Nietzsche... Supermang...
👍🏽
You also need to understand that pure capitalism is what collapses the system - socialist philosophy is what created the modern state and its infrastructure base on which capitalism is built. It’s forgetting that fact has let Nazis take over. The US was built on socialism
Absolutely frakking true ☝️

MS NOW's Chris Hayes accuses the American military of deliberately targeting civilians "to have the rhetoric being into the region, “we don't we don't care if you live or die” to not make the distinction between civilians and combatants just also strikes me as, like, wildly self-defeating at just the sort of tactical level." Mehdi Hasan says American sailors are worse than Nazis "It's a moral abomination. And yes, it's tactically stupid. They, you know, they bombed a submarine and just let the sailors drown to death. Going against even the Nazis didn't do that during World War II, apparently. Even the Nazis collected people from the water."
