But then, a major piece of news came from Karnataka regarding this woman. At that time, there was a Congress government in Karnataka, and Siddaramaiah was the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister accused Sonia Narang of being involved in a ₹16,000 crore scam. This was not a small matter, an IPS officer was being accused of corruption by a Chief Minister. Everyone thought that this woman police officer would now be scared, but that did not happen. Responding to the Chief Minister, she said that her conscience is clear, and any kind of investigation can be conducted. She not only rejected the allegations but also said she would challenge them legally at every level.
