What I want is for people who are not corrupt, who are well-informed about the issue, to figure out what the best level of immigration is and to set up a process that works. The “anywheres” vs “somewheres” divide is ultimately what nationalism comes down to. Most native Brits wanted to live in or at least close to where their parents grew up and their grandparents before that and so on and so on. On top of that they don’t want people coming into those cities, towns, and villages who are not only not local they’re not British or European or even Western. Why is Essex such a Reform heavy county? Because a lot of the people in Essex are people who had to move out of the East End of London because of Bangladeshi and Pakistani immigration taking over Tower Hamlets and Newham. They were uprooted once and they are now seeing the immigration begin to follow them to Essex and they refuse to endure this for a second time. There’s a reason white flight exists. Even the liberals and progressives don’t actually want to live amongst the diversity. So the obvious solution is not only to pause immigration where it is but to reverse it. We want to see cockneys return to the East End and we want the Pakistani’s and Bangladeshi’s back where they belong. I’m sorry if your parents or grandparents came here against the will of the British public and you wrongly believe you are British. You are a victim of immigration too but it’s not my job to worry about you, it’s my job to worry about my people. So get learning Urdu and Bengali if you can’t speak it already because you are going back whether you like it or not.
