@howie_hua I’m fifth grade math teacher and I’m SO thankful to have found thus. Can you show me how “messy” it would look with negative numbers and division perhaps? Thanks for considering.

Can bar models be done with multiplication and or division?

Howie - I’m unclear how this is better than a balance or hanger model. Honestly this model seems a bit confusing compared to those (and an unnecessary adaption of an old but classic model)

Can this be extended to quadratics with square-and-rectangle models?

For 'a' my instinct was to factor out the 3 and 15 leaving 2x=5, obviously wrong. So I am not a fan of the technique. Just teach the old way.
