Howie - I’m unclear how this is better than a balance or hanger model. Honestly this model seems a bit confusing compared to those (and an unnecessary adaption of an old but classic model)

For 'a' my instinct was to factor out the 3 and 15 leaving 2x=5, obviously wrong. So I am not a fan of the technique. Just teach the old way.
